Summer Mindfulness

As you enjoy your summer, you may want to consider what it means to be mindful (without the stress of academics added to the mix!) What does being mindful mean to you? It could mean being present in the moment. It may mean letting things go. Perhaps, it’s simply about a quiet moment. Mindfulness can be practiced. Mindfulness can help reduce stress, increase happiness and increase brain activity.

Here are some ways to be mindful this summer:

  • Notice your breathing
  • Take in your surroundings (hopefully you can feel the sun on your face, hear laughter, taste some delicious ice cream, see the happy faces of friends!)
  • Try to do just one thing at a time
  • Do something creative
  • Choose to put down your phone (even for just five minutes.)

We hope you are enjoying your summer!
