Admissions tests (SAT / ACT) are considered by many schools to be an integral part of evaluating students in the admissions process. A standardized test, be it the SAT or the ACT, gives colleges across the country comparative data to use in evaluating students from different high schools. Students should plan carefully and gain familiarity with the test formats through the use of practice materials. Since testing requirements (and lack thereof) vary from college to college, it is important that students are aware of each school’s specific requirements.
*** Students who receive accommodations in school and would like to be considered for the same accommodations on these standardized tests should see their Guidance Counselor to fill out the required paperwork.
